A Dutch Colonial with much potential, this house was boxy, dark, and had a small kitchen when the current owners purchased it. We opened up and renovated the home to allow the homeowners to keep up with their growing family and love of entertaining. With the goal of creating a more casual and open floor plan, we updated the home to provide a welcoming flow for both visitors and the homeowners. The kitchen is now spacious, with an island for guests to gather around, a bar area complete with wine refrigerator, and plenty of counter space. Windows behind the sink and overlooking the backyard by the eat-in kitchen area as well as pristine white cabinetry bathe the room in bright, natural light. Inspired details, from the weathered patina hurricane lamps to the old timbers by the fireplace to the weathered wood frame for the dining room mirror, can be found throughout the home, adding charm and intrigue.
